My Go-To Gluten Free Products and Brands

It’s been 16 years since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and all I can say is, gluten free food has come a looooong way! With so many amazing products on the market from breakfast cereals and oatmeal, to snack bars, pastas, sauces and baked goods, it’s easier, and tastier, than ever to eat gluten free. But there are a few brands that stand out to me as being the best of the best.

Simple Mills

I cannot get enough of these Simple Mills crackers! They give any gluten-containing cracker a run for their money and are a nice alternative when wanting a break from rice crackers. Simple Mills also has an amazing assortment of other crackers, cookies and baking mixes.

Beyond the incredible texture and flavor of their foods, Simple Mills nails it when it comes to ingredients. The main ingredient in most of their products is a combination of nuts and seeds, followed by grain free flour and natural sweeteners/spices. Therefore, their products are completely grain free and often dairy free.

It’s not uncommon for those living with Celiac Disease or a gluten allergy to have difficulty digesting grains, dairy or other common allergens. I know this is the case for me! This is just another reason I love Simple Mills. All of their products are extremely allergen friendly. And they are super widely available! So next time you see Simple Mills products in the grocery store, at Costco, etc. definitely grab a box (or seventeen) of crackers! You won’t regret it!

Siete

I don’t know what we all did to deserve the Siete products gracing the grocery store shelves. To whoever’s good karma is to blame, thank you!!

Siete makes the most delicious grain free additions to taco night. I’m talking hard taco shells that somehow don’t crack into a million pieces when you bite into them. Soft taco shells that are the size of a flour tortilla, and hold together like a flour tortilla, but are grain free, gluten free and so delicious! Oh, and their grain free tortilla chips…..suddenly I’m craving tacos.

They also make an incredible taco seasoning. Unlike many of the other prepared seasonings, this seasoning is free of corn and other fillers. They’ve recently expanded into taco sauces and other sauces which I have yet to try. But I have 1000% confidence that they’re amazing!

I also love that Siete uses clean sources of oil, such as avocado oil, in their products. So many brands use less expensive, hydrogenated oils that are highly inflammatory. Siete, with their clean ingredients, will have you feeling good about your choice to go back from 2nds, 3rds…ok 4ths (my husband) on Taco Tuesday.

Primal Kitchen

If you’ve been on a gluten free diet for some time, you know how hard it can be to find safe choices when it comes to sauces. One of the biggest “oh no” moments after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease was finding out that soy sauce is not gluten free. Ugh.

Unfortunately for those on a gluten free diet, not only is soy sauce off limits, but alllll the delicious sauces that use soy sauce (stir-fry sauce, teriyaki sauce, etc.)

Enter: Primal Kitchen. They have revolutionized the sauce aisle with an incredible assortment of sauces that are free from most major allergens. Plus, they are always gluten free! They also have an impressive selection of salad dressings, and to my amazement this holiday season, gravy as well!

These guys have become my go to for all things sauce, and it’s comforting to know that all of their products are safe for those of us on a GF diet. Eat your saucy hearts out!

Purely Elizabeth

I am a bigggg breakfast girl. However, oats, even when confirmed gluten free, can be tough on people with Celiac or a gluten intolerance. But thanks to Purely Elizabeth, I can still satisfy by craving for granola. This brand has an amazing selection of gluten free, plus grain free and keto friendly granolas. Literally any flavor you want, they have it.

They recently released a breakfast cereal, and they also have certified gluten free oats, for those who can tolerate them. They use wonderfully clean ingredients that you can pronounce so you can feel good about devouring an entire bag of granola. I know I do.

Parting Words

I feel like I am just hitting the tip of the iceberg with these recommendations given how many amazing gluten free products are on the market these days. But these brands in particular have a permanent spot in my kitchen and definitely deserve a spot in yours!
